Geoff Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Fines and jail time are minor? Which planet do you live on? I wish to move there.
plexer Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 The legal way to do it is to create your own gina which m$ gives all the information on and source code examples that you might need. If you need to keep original gina functionality as well I believe you can chain them. Ben
Gatt Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 @Plexer, you got a link for how to get the source code examples? if i'm gonna implement this at the school - i better do it the legit way! Done it the not-so-legal way on a Virtual PC and looks great, but better do it above board for the school.
plexer Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/05/05/SecurityBriefs/ That looks like a good start. Ben
PiqueABoo Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 I'm no expert etc., but I'm really struggling to see what the criminal case would be e.g. no one would be bypassing a technogical protection mechanism... ...and I'm struggling to see what the civil case might be e.g. I don't see how MS would be able to claim credible damages if you replace a graphic. I guess we need some case law, but I just can't see MS pursuing anyone for this kind of thing.
russdev Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 reverse engneering, alteration of software which is againt license agreement and so civil case it would be... russ
eejit Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 Anyone else managed to change this? I used Resource Hacker and changed the XP Logon on the Logon box to our Logo, and changed all references to System Administrator to ICT Supoprt. Looks good, so was just wondering if anyone else has done this? Could you post up a screen-shot of this please? Cheers
plexer Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 I Hope you didn't: ICT Supoprt as all the kids will be laughing at your spelling I hope it was ICT Support instead Ben
tarquel Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 topics merged due to similar discussion - Lock dialog and msgina.dll tarquel.
