Hello

 

We use Mosyle MDM server, all the apps are users are showing still. This is been removed from Mosyle Manager but the users and apps are still showing.

 

How can I reset back to factory settings to start a fresh when the device is not showing on the Manager?

 

I have looked at their support but can't see anything useful and I can't find a contact email for them.

Are you looking to set this up as an iPad independent of Mosyle? You'd likely need to remove it from your apple school manager.

 

Otherwise resetting the iPad manually on the device should work and bring back Mosyle possibly. Depends on how it's been configured.

 

Apple configurator/Itunes recovery are also options.

I want it to be a standalone iPad not on Mosyle, I have removed it from Apple School Manager but in the settings on the iPad I don't see options to reset the iPad.

Once I reset it to factory settings I can then re-join it to Mosyle. As the problem I am having is that I can't download the profile onto the iPad as it says Error.

You probably won't be able to download the profile as you've removed it from Moysle/Apple school manager.

Go to Settings > General > Reset, then tap Erase all Contents and Settings

 

other option is to use the apple recovery method using itunes.

Let me see if I've understood this correctly.

 

You've removed the iPad from Mosyle Manager.

You've removed the iPad from Apple School Manager.

The user to whom the iPad was assigned is still showing in Mosyle, along with all their apps.

You've reset the iPad and now it won't boot at all; instead it shows an error.

Have you unassigned the device from ASM or have you released the device from ASM?

 

Bear in mind if you are releasing the device you can only apply a Supervised profile by using AC2

 

If Mosyle is set to be the default MDM then if you have just unassigned the device it will enrol again, by deselecting Mosyle as the default MDM you can then choose which MDM is used by assigning it to. ASM supports multiple MDM’s

 

why on earth do you want to remove the iPad then download a profile directly on the iPad?
