Hi.

Our Avigilon Centre Service won't start.

I think its down to lack of disk space, but I cannot fiddle with the storage settings, until the service has started - catch 22!

Any ideas on how to resolve this please?

Thanks

Can you check the space left on the drives through Windows explorer, also check in Recycle bin if there are any files that can be removed from there, next check if any other files can safely be removed but only do that if you are positive they are not needed. Once you get a bit of space see if you can run TreeSize to see if you can identify where the storage is been used.

Is it pretty much definitely the disk space?

Having done similar before, mine was an HP server (G8 I think) and we ended up expanding the array from a smart start disc in the thing, sticking a couple extra drives in. Or if you wanted to get ugly with it I have booted a Ubuntu disc/iso and DD-ed arrays over to bigger arrays/disks before now.

Any of those an option? Or anything like them?

So far the situation is thus: All drives installed in array, and formatted, so no can do with expanding storage.

I might check disk manager to see if there is any free space on the array however - good shout.

Really didn't want to have to rebuild this thing, but might be the only option... will let you all know.

Thanks guys - something to go on with.

Now sorted a move to another OU in AD where the rest of my servers were, gpupdate and long reboot, and now its started.

Some more maintenance needed I think in the long run.
