Hi Liam,

Welcome to the collective "you-will-spend-every-hour-of-every-day-glued-to" website commonly referred to as EduGeek.

Great resource, great to ask ANY question, great laugh, and perfect sense of community specially in a very un-respected job role of School IT Support.

We all know within each other, how hard we work, what we have to put up with, and we understand, which is a comforting thought.

Hi Liam

Welcome to our humble abode, it's not much but we like it.

A quick warning about in jokes ... There are too many of them!

Jake has to be kept in a cage (especially when he wakes up and realises that there are females techs *And* some of them are members!)

Chocolate and beer are popular promises when another member tells you how to get yourself out of a fix you have gotten yourself into because you didn't RTFM (it's ok for us to risk it ... we get paid to ignore the instructions ... if a user does it then they are a waste of space)

And there are few subjects guaranteed to split the community and cause heated debates ...

Not religion (heck ... read the Scientology thread if you have a spare few days!) Not politics ... not even OS wars (even if Mattx and a few others believe that for every Mac bought God kills a kitten ... but some members don't believe in God so we are unsure if the kitten dies or not ... and no, we are not fans of Schrödinger) ... we are talking about the important things in life.

BSF and Ironing. You can say you are a mac fanboi ... you can say you worship at the temple of Steve Balmer ... just please don't ask whether you put the starch in the wash or apply it afterwards.

And there are two popular smilies ... :censored:

and the one I have to use a lot ... :getmecoat:
