Hi,

 

We have 1GB internet line and AP’ are connected a get post switch.

 

We do a speed test through a laptop, I’m getting 180 Mbps download speed, this is max I get.

 

Upload around 130. What is the max speed we should get?

It's dependant on so, so many things and being on wifi makes it dependant on so many more.

 

The only truly reliable way to test your internet speed is to plug a device into it with a wire when there's nothing else on your network.

Like above, depends on so many things:

 

Model of AP

WiFi standard of AP and Device

Amount of devices connected to AP

Settings in the WiFi controller

Switch Configs

If theres a microwave nearby

If someones stuck the AP in a faraday cage

 

Etc Etc...

 

I normally say though in ideal scenario should be 300 up 300 down atleast.

Does the AP have a speed test function from the controller to the AP? if you think it is underperforming would narrow down the components

Also found fast.com to be more accurate to real world speeds having used it on multiple ISPs , often much higher than other tests.

The client device can also be a factor. Just to name a few.

 

The quality of the hardware

Antenna placement

Material device is made from

Drivers

 

I generally find cheap consumer laptops do get flower speeds. But this varies.

Your 190 doesn’t look out of place to me, unless you have a super top end client with good antennas, latest wi-fi version and little else on the network.

Firstly specifying your internet speed as GB not Gb is odd

 

Secondly what speed test website?

 

Thirdly what speed do you get on a wired computer?
