Infotec photocopiers

The HT is looking at the Infotec photocopier range and is thinking of buying the MP4000. Has anyone had experience of this model, good or bad?

Ricoh photocopiers re branded. Just get the Ricoh equivalent instead. Up to date instead of last years model and better support.

 

Lanier are the same.

From the sound of it Infotec is not a good brand

Our repo department has bought infotec for the last 6 years.

 

Not had any major issues until this year.

 

when trying to share one of the smaller units via a server:

 

"Oh, no it doesn't work on server 2003, it's a known issue"

 

And we've had no end of problems getting them accept any prints from a PC

Funny this question should crop up, we're also looking at the same brand at the moment, seems good value for money.

 

Incidently, do most people lease or buy photocopiers??

btw Rex Rotary and Gestetner are also Ricoh rebrands:)

 

I'm a toshiba guy myself, best copiers out there, and I need to see what benifits the lease has over buy outright, if no benifits then look at what it will cost over time to lease etc and decide upon that.

Add NRG and Nashuatec to the list of rebrands... (although, technically, Nashuatec, RexRotary and Gestenta are simply brands of NRG, used depending on which market they are in).

 

We recently got a refurb rexrotary machine donated to us, and so far it has been rock solid.

 

We lease, as it has the advantage of spreading the cost and handling disposal at the end of the unit's life. Also, adding a cost per page package to it is nice and easy.

 

We're looking at Ricoh/Nashuatec, Toshiba and Xerox for our next copier, as they are the only ones with SIMS.net links available (Canon does too, but we've had nothing but trouble with our existing Canon machine).

Ricoh and Canon make the best copiers.

 

Depending what you want to do with it i would suggest Ricoh they all you to fiddle around a little more and adding external hardware is a lot easier.

(if you plan to ever monitor/charge for photcopies)

 

Development for the embedded Ricoh server seems to be more advanced than the Canon offerings. The last Annual Ricoh Solutions/Developer conference saw some fancy new software being shown off.

The HT has decided to go with Infotec for financial reasons so time will tell if it was the right choice.
