That would be in breach of their T's&C's.

1. Registration and Access

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. If you are under 18 you must have your parent or legal guardian’s permission to use the Services. If you use the Services on behalf of another person or entity, you must have the authority to accept the Terms on their behalf. You must provide accurate and complete information to register for an account. You may not make your access credentials or account available to others outside your organization, and you are responsible for all activities that occur using your credentials.

While the terms would be open to interpretations as technically when I child is at school they are under guardianship of the teachers.

However I would question the use of chat gpt as it is being blocked at secondary level above to minimise plagiarism claims.

I can see the benefits but long term consequences of its use. To me this is an SLT call

"You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services" is definitive and there is no stated exception for teachers or schools. You would absolutely be in breach of the Terms if you allowed under 13's to use it. There could also be a safeguarding issue as ChatGPT will return content to you that may not be appropriate for under 13's.

There may be another similar service that would be more suitable.

Apart from the age restriction (bard is over 18s only) the DfE guidance is: Education institutions must continue to protect their students from harmful content online, including that which might be produced by generative AI.

So, no.

Let the dust settle, LLaMa might be better suited to schools.
