Ipad Prices

Hi all, are there cheaper ways to get an IPad i.e. an Apple Insider Education program or a re-seller? I am pricing them up for a new school build and have them noted down at the retail price on the website currently.

Yes there is an educational discount. You can also contact resellers, but I'm not sure how much wiggle room they have. Jigsaw24 have helped us before.

There isn't much wiggle room for resellers. I do find Academia to be the cheapest.

Hi, the last quote I got from jigsaw24 back in February 2023 for an iPad 10.2" 64GB WIFI -Silver was £271.00. But prices might have changed since then.

What are the DEP registered devices?

 

 

Just noticed the £266 is for the 9th Gen so 10th Gen is the current model so that will be the reason the price is higher.

DEP registered devices are locked to the school & will appear in your apple school manager.

When first booting them up, they'll automatically enroll in whatever MDM you have setup.

 

It also means that if they are ever pinched, you can just lock them and brick them.

 

If you don't do this, you'll have to create apple ID's to activation lock them (or staff/kids will end up doing this) which will screw you over when they leave or forget their passwords as you won't be able to unlock them.

Ahh, I was going to link the Apple account to Intune and manage it that way.

You can still do that, You assign your DEP devices to an MDM within apple school manager (Which isn't an MDM itself, just a register of all your devices that you own)
