Hello all,

Have a school who are nearly out of contract with Virginmedia and virginmedia has said that if they don't renew their business broadband that prices will increase by 14%. has anyone else had this from Virginmedia ?

Thank you

I’m confused. How does the 14% increase come about. Is that if they don’t renew by a specified date?

Inflation in January+ 3.9% I think. All ISPs and mobile companies seem to be doing it. They all have a clause in their contract saying they can increase price yearly by inflation + 3.9%.

We've received notices for our mobiles all going up by around that.

Prices are set to rise each year, if there is no inflation it will go up by 3.9% regardless.

Mine at home has gone up from £40 to £47!!

Call them

Cancel it

They will ring back and give you a better deal

Do not accept the price rise.

Is the price increase if they don’t sign the contract? If so that’s normal. There is usually a discount when you sign up for a long term period rather than 30 day rolling.

Recently cancelled one of our sites that had Virgin media connection and contract. Put in cancellation notice but they continued to bill us after end date even though wasn't using it and then claim we hadn't given notice!

Put in a complaint and then they refunded us.
