We wanted to give our users of Bromcom access to Groups so they can only VIEW the group and memberships without the ability to edit the group. It appears this is not possible as giving users ACCESS only to Groups in the permissions seems that users are able to edit the groups.

After raising this with Bromcom support they have asked to raise this as an idea which is here:

https://ideas.bromcomcloud.com/ideas/BRCM-I-3876

It would be great to have the ability to limit users to have Read Only access to Groups. At the moment giving users ACCESS to groups and the relevant modules within groups, means they can alter and edit groups. The permissions need updating so that ACCESS is ACCESS and there needs to be an EDIT option so staff with edit permissions are the ones who can only edit the groups and modules in the groups.

I'd be grateful if those users of bromcom could up this and hopefully Bromcom will see this, see the issue and implement this very basic idea.

voted - but I'm not gonna vote for every single area of bromcom permissions which needs a teeny weeny bit of common sense applied.

It'd be the work of a few hours for someone at head office to go through the permissions menu and figure out the bonkers bits that need fixing.

Totally get your point here and thank you for voting. Normally i wouldn't have posted this but when it's something so simple that Bromcom cannot get right, especially when it comes to ACCESS permissions with no EDIT or SAVE permissions, you'd think it was straight forward.

Highlighted is the permission issue. If this is ticked with the along with rest of the settings, groups can be modified. It's appalling that Bromcom have said, raise this an idea! @Bromcom_Support_2

Discovered this last week - What a pain!

Access is Access, not Edit or Save in the IT world. Why Bromcom counts "Access" as these despite having seperate permissions is beyond me.

I want staff to be able to view a group, but not screw it up/rename it.
