Hi All,

Happy New year. Hope all is going well for the start of the year.

I have been having an issue with 1!! VOIP which is really starting to bug me of what the issue is.

We were told about this about 2 weeks after it went down from the department the phone was in. This was just before Christmas, We have since have had Christmas break and cannot (and originally) not think if there was any work done that would affect this. If there was then it could only be CCTV installation. But believe everything was running fine despite this.

The phone works everywhere else in the school so it is not an issue with that. The other 'Fixes' we have tried is tried another phone = same issue, try and plug the phone using a POE injector straight into the switch = same issue, tried a different POE switch = same issue.

I have had a look at the VLAN, despite not having a lot of experience with this everything looks fine comparing to other switches around the school. This was also working fine prior this and there has been no work being done on the switches.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

Have you compared the actual port vlan settings with other ports where phones are working/other switches? What is the actual problem, does it not connect to the VOIP server? Could be lots of things TBH.

This still going on there? Do other phones in the same switch work ok? Wondering if the VLANs may or may not be there on the trunks between switches if not (check both ports on the trunk. And also triple check the VLANs are right on the port you're configuring on the phone been MANY times I've just not saved something and chased my tail for a day.)
