ianniow Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 As the title says when behind the Smoothwall voice typing looks like it is going to work and then when you actually speak nothing happens. I can't find any blocks in the logs and I thought I had all the Google settings in place. Google meet works perfectly. The only weird line in the web filter log is https://mtalk.google.com:5228 with a code of 403 Any ideas anyone
ChrisC Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 Is your firewall config allowing port 5228 outbound from the clients? Have you checked the firewall logs as well as the filter? You might need to temporarily enable logging on any relevant deny rules. If you try temporarily setting a guardian source exclusion for the IP while you test it, that will either confirm or rule out the filter causing it rather than the firewall. Remember to remove the exclusion once you've finished testing! Chris 1
MrFlipindibo Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 Have you tried adding 5228 as an additional web port? 1
ibpalle Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 Outgoing traffic to the 5228 port needs to be available for the user If using proxy settings the port needs to be allowed as an additional web port in the web proxy settings advanced section. If client is behind a transparent proxy, the port needs to be allowed outgoing on the firewall.
