Odd one here - One of my sites have brought Adobe Creative Cloud all apps. but device licences rather than users.

I'm trying to create the package and i dont get a option to select the licnce type - Just defaults to name based licence

I have tried using the Creative Cloud Packager, but this download the 2018 apps and won't update the apps to the latest release. Creative cloud asks me to sign in every time i click on Update. (Although this gives me the device licence option and the machines appear on the web admin console.

Am i missing something?

The old Device licensing is only pre cc2019

The newer Shared Device licensing will be under ETLA, VIP etc. It requires signin to run and update apps, you can do this by either setting it to allow personal Adobe Id or federated Id linked to your Adobe tenant. Adobe don’t support true sso, you have to manually enter the email address of the account before it can complete sso login

Creative Cloud Packager is legacy only it can do cc2019 or later for that it is all cloud based through the admin console.

If you goto the account tab in admin centre it should show what type of contract is is under.

The account is VIP Select lvl 2

I get this when I create a package.

VIP can be with or without shared device license. If you go to the account tab and hover over the small creative cloud icon in the products column it should mention shared device. If not then they may have only selected the named user option when purchasing or the reseller made a mistake when allocating.

You should get the option to select license type before you start the wizard on the packages page:

As what RLR says. If you haven’t got this check you are a full administrator of the admin console

If you have been delegated admin by someone else check they given correct permissions

Hi

Just checked permissions on my account vs the main administrator account and they are both the same. I dont get that option.

I'm going to assume its time to speak to Adobe to find what's going on

This is what we have for our device licensing (this is under "products".)

A created package looks like this for us Untitled2.png

a new package gives these options Untitled3.png

and the contract shows pretty much the same as "product" page Untitled4.png

Looking at your licensing vs mine I would say you do not have a license for shared device.
