Impero Client on Mac

Hi All,

 

Just wondering has anyone had any issues with the Impero Client on Macs? We have an example where if a teacher logs into the Mac then they cannot access the Impero Console, but they can if they are on a Windows device? Do Macs have to be added via Device (as well as User?)? What I dont want to do is add the Mac to the "Access Rights Console" and then this lets students access the console - even though we have a password set up.

 

Also on another note - has anyone seen the issue where Impero icon in the taskbar on the Mac quickly flashes up and then disappears again? Which then causes the Mac to hang for a second or two - really annoying when you are typing and the device just hangs for a second or 2.

What version of Impero are you on? I know there was an issue with Impero Console button not appearing when on an older version which I think was fixed in 8.5.65. Also on the mac client you need to ensure that the "Hide Impero Workstation Tray Icon" is unticked for the Macs as the teacher needs to press the icon to then press the "Launch Impero Console" button.

 

You can still do it based on users/security groups as well if the Macs are on domain. That's how we have it setup in our network. We don't need to add the devices to the console rights.

I have a group called All Macs with the priority set to high. Add the devices to it. Then right click the group and press 'Properties' > Group Settings > Workstation Settings. Set the settings you want with 'Hide Impero Workstation tray icon' and 'Hide Open Impero Console menu item' unticked. Then OK.

 

 

Then on the mac (I haven't got one to show atm) you will Impero Workstation is active and should have the impero icon in the top right near network and sound. If you press the impero icon it should say 'Open Impero Console'
