mrstrong Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 where do you get yours from ? struggling to find original for a panasonic. would a universal TV remote than can learn IR codes work with projectors ? Basically just need on / off (and maybe input source select)
MrEprise Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 Once upon a time, Panasonic used to sell replacement remotes for all their consumer electronics. Sounds like that may not be the case anymore. I've used this company before who may not be able to sell you an original but do compatibles which emulate the originals nearly down to a T. https://wallis-universal.co.uk/index.php 1
simpsonj Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 @Millgate sold me some Universal Projector Remotes that worked well enough 1
BKGarry Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 I ended up installing these https://visionaudiovisual.com/en/product/tc3-ctl They come with a long long long IR Cable, just attached to a single back box. Learned every IR signal I needed and run from batteries, programmed them for On, Off, Freeze and Source Search, not cheap but cheaper than keep on replacing remotes. 1
TLARWise Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 Another alternative supplier of compatible remotes that we have used before is https://www.genuinecopies.tv/ 1
LH_1 Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 I've used these previously before, not the cheapest but always done the job : https://www.lampsdirect.co.uk/index.php/remotes/panasonic.html 1
mrstrong Posted November 16, 2022 Author Posted November 16, 2022 thanks all for the websites / advice, sure they will come in use. I've actually managed to contact Panasonic via a web form and they've emailed back, looks like they can provide "spare parts" so I've asked for a price, will see what they say.
SamanthaD Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 RS232 control panels are the way forward. Why give staff access to the functions they don't need?
Fazza Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 I ended up installing these https://visionaudiovisual.com/en/product/tc3-ctl They come with a long long long IR Cable, just attached to a single back box. How much do they cost as they look expensive?
Andrew_C Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 Not free - but if you have to keep replacing remotes and the lost teaching factor... https://cpc.farnell.com/vision-av/
