Hi all,

Hope you are well.

We have some of the DFE Geobooks that won't PXE boot, so I created a USB offline media, to install but it keeps failing trying to find the hard drive. Initially I was getting an error saying it was trying to format the USB stick, so in the Task sequence I changed the Format and Partition Disk to 1 from 0 and now its saying 'Unable to determine Destination Disk, Partition and/or Drive.'

Do I need to install a driver for the disk in the task sequence? Any ideas?

Thanks

Couple things to check. I had to check the site as I also had trouble with these. I have loads geobook 1e and I am sure it is these that you can only pxe boot off a specific port. (the left)

Also there are two versions of the 1e one which supports pxe and the other doesn’t.

Fortunately we have all the ones which do support pxe however found some usb adapters don’t work.

I have an anker usb3 Nic and that works. An added note if you are using sccm to deploy to make sure you add the MAC address of the usb nic to the conflict exception list

Aw man I feel for you. That sucks. In this situation then is I would go about create a bootable usb to your sccm/mdt environment.

Cheers. Yeah I am trying to sort that, but I cannot get the MDT USB to format the hard drive, keep getting an error during the process, saying it cannot find the hard drive. Got the drivers but not sure if I am missing a storage controller.

Finally sorted this for a MDT USB install. Had to alter the Task Sequence so that Format and Partition for BIOS and UEFI Disk number was 1 not 0.

Edugeek saves the day again..!

Just come across about 10 of these geobooks & i'm re-imaging them all via MDT. Was having same issue
