I got that too but on the M100 package, which has moved to M125. It's now gone from 100Mbps to 132Mbps and doubled the upload from 10Mbps to 20Mbps :) Edited by jonnykewell1

Before I left Virgin Media last May, I was bumped up to 500Mbps by retentions for £31/Month on my previous contract. I used the price rise get out clause to cancel and move to full 1Gbps fibre (FTTP) with Community Fibre.

Doubling of the upload speed feels far more important here. Nice to have but I still hate virgin and their inflationary prices.

I ring up each time my contract comes to an end and threaten to leave. They then give me a fairly good discount to stay. Seems to be the way things work these days with these companies. Just like insurance companys, you have to threaten to leave at the end of the contract to get the best price. Every year I change car insurance providor because the current providor will try increase my policy by £50+ even though I've gone another year with a no claims. They prey on the people that don't bother looking to change. Phone contracts is another one although I've gone SIM only now.

Yeh, I did the same but it's such a faff getting through to the right people or getting the best deal.

There are other companies out there who don't have such bad practices, I just hope they deliver fiber down my road at some point.

Cityfibre are currently digging up my entire town with the inevitable local newspaper complaints.

That's the other thing that's now gone - proper support. Support at a lot of companys is near impossible to get hold of or they make it so difficult that you just give up. We went on holiday with Jet To and made a complaint about the hotel. It took them 9 months to reply and all we got was a generic apology. But it seems to work as after waiting 9 months we couldn't be bothered to fight it anymore because it was painful for us to try get anywhere with it.
