You may have heard some British people talking in movies. The men are the posh baddies who often drink to much; the women are the posh ladies who live on their own and have too much money. You may not think so, but your Americans have got 100% right! We are like that!

I have noticed recently that almost every person who is not very nice (not always a full blown baddie) in American shows/films etc is English.

Shame they didn't proof read any of it one of the paragraphs on this page is repeated twice, i can cope with a repeated word but that's just lazy

These place names are all commonly spelt with "near London", such as "Edinburgh, near London". People who don't live in London are called "provincials", and are not allowed to meet the Queen or get married.

Mix with the locals. These "toffs" often put on a coarse accent after a glass or two of beer; do not be intimidated, they are resting their throats after talking "posh" all day. They will be glad to play Eton college word-games: "Get Up, That's My Seat", "You look a puff-to-me!" and "Is-she-for sale?" Call out one of these games to any large chap, and have fun.
