Accessing SIMS on Mobile Device

Just wondering what/how other schools access SIMS on a mobile device. We currently have a few staff that are unable to access a PC some lessons in order to take their class registers (PE Staff Mainly) and was wondering what other school's do/suggest to staff in this situation. We have RDP with SIMS installed on but i appreciate this can be a little clunky for staff signing into RDP and then opening up SIMS and taking the register on a Tablet i.e. iPad

 

I know SIMS also have a SIMS Teacher App but haven't got much experience with this - unsure if other school have the SIMS Teacher App and what they think about the app?

 

Any help is greatly appreciated.

We just moved away from SIMS but when we had it we used the SIMS teacher app. Worked okay for us. Every now and then they would break something but for taking registers it was fine.

We use Edulink One. Works really well as they have a mobile App. Teachers can do registers on it. https://www.overnetdata.com/edulink-one/

Do you know roughly off the top of your head how much this cost? I know it will depending pupil numbers etc but just so i have a rough idea? as it easy enough to set up from an IT point of view?

They did have a flat fee for schools but are now going over to a per pupil cost of £2.20 per pupil per year.

We wouldnt be without it to be honest whilst we stay with SIMS. If we ever move to a cloud based MIS we may not need it.

Another nod for EduLink. Loads of our staff use it for registers even on their laptops. Also, if you change MIS you could possibly keep it in place with a new MIS to ease transition for everybody.

And another thumbs up for Edulink. We were moved onto SIMS 12 months ago by our trust, having been used to a cloud MIS (Progresso). Edulink has made it relatively painless and in many ways is an upgrade. Most staff don't even have a SIMS login. Their support is brilliant.
