Office LTSC 2021 Updates

Good Morning all,

 

 

Does anyone know how updates on Office LTSC 2021 actually work? From looking online people say it does it automatically over the internet but has anyone seen this working in practice?

 

I don't fancy coming in one day with our internet grinded to a halt and people unable to use Office as all workstations are updating so was wondering what to do?

 

I see in group policy there is a update channel you can set to semi-annual enterprise channel but still I'm not really any the wiser.

 

I have googled it but information is limited from what I can find. I looked into this a while back and didn't make any notes but this information might help. I found this: "Updates are installed via a scheduled task the click-to-run installer installs. The scheduled task is under Task Scheduler > Microsoft > Office > Office Automatic Updates 2.0"

 

I believe there are also some GPO settings that need to be setup to allow it to download.
