Sonic007 Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Hi, Just about to place an order for some i5 12th Gen Flex Micro PC's from VeryPC? Anyone that can vouch they are a good buy? They look good and cheaper than branded alternatives. Thanks all.
Dan2025 Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Brought a couple during the summer for our new Satellite classes, I'm a little envious as they were a tad overkill for the classes needs but nothing came close in terms of spec for that price. Plus 5 years warranty included. 2
Sonic007 Posted September 21, 2022 Author Posted September 21, 2022 Thanks. Yeah I've heard great things. Good spec'd machines.
robyholmes Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 We have a school mostly full with then and they are very good. Just need to keep the fans clean but that applies or pretty much all PCs. Plus @VeryPC are a very good company for looking after you, from sales through to support. I often find you get forgotten about once the machines are onsite and support is disconnected from sales, with VeryPC you can tell they communicate when needed. 1
slugshead Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 I bought a batch of the flex's about 4-5 years back. I've put the computers they were replacing back into service as the flex's just died one at a time 1
LeMarchand Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 The suite here is 7 year old Flex models from VPC. We had one with bad RAM (quickly sorted) when setting up, otherwise they're all still going strong. The only real problem we've had was the Hanns-G monitors, which I would steer clear of as they started to fail outside of warranty and the design brief for the buttons seems to have been "easy to break". If given some money, I'd be happy to up the RAM and especially the SSD capacity (currently 4/128) and carry on using them. If we had the cash to replace the suite I'd be even happier to replace it with spanking new ones from VPC. 2
Sonic007 Posted September 21, 2022 Author Posted September 21, 2022 I was looking at Dells but the VeryPC FlexMicro is basically the same spec but cheaper. Im replacing our office PC's as the staff are getting annoyed with old slow machines. 1
Cat_Jam148 Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 (edited) We've recently replaced our classroom machines with i5 12th gen Flex Micros A fantastic little machine, drives our 4k displays and HD monitors with ease. Bonus points for being monitor mounted to avoid getting kicked and abused like the towers they replaced. Can't speak for their longevity or reliability yet, but if they are anything like our IT suite Flex Micros (roughly 4 years old), shouldn't have an issue. Edited September 21, 2022 by Cat_Jam148 3
Sonic007 Posted September 22, 2022 Author Posted September 22, 2022 Thanks everyone. I'll be placing an order today.
