ITGuyNW Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Has anyone decided to take the plunge with 22H2? I think our rollout starts now with this version.
supportman Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Just on my personal PC, finally they fixed the drag to taskbar stuff! We havent rolled out at school as the initial release was missing a lot of features. Still think we will wait a year or two.
BOOT Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Start menu is still a joke. RSAT still breaks GPOs for non windows 11 devices. Hypervisor on by default brings VMs to a crawl. Not really seeing any improvements.

Not really seeing any improvements. Care to expand on RSAT comment? I was thinking of giving it a whirl, and don’t want to mash my Group Policies. The Hypervisor is part of the security system in Windows 10 and 11. It’s on by default in 11 because it’s needed to protect secrets and block the effectiveness of malicious drivers. These elements were optional in 10, and really the primary difference to 11, turning them on is a breaking change, and so warrants a new public/branding version number.
free780 Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 I think most be orgs will wait until Windows 12.
Primus Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 I think most be orgs will wait until Windows 12. Windows 10 SAC goes EoL on October 14th 2025. If you want to go beyond October 2025 you're going to have to run LTSC which MS themselves say is not for general purpose computers - this article has a good explanation. MS themselves reckon LTSC accounts for only 2% of Windows installations. So the vast majority are going to have to get to Windows 11 sooner or later.
tmoon-mint Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Tabbed file explorer is finally coming in the October cumulative update! 1
Fazza Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 I installed this update earlier and got and unhappy smiley and then it undid the update and I'm back to where I started!
free780 Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 Be aware that Credential Guard is enabled by default. So could cause issue with radius authentication due to stored passwords. 1
ITGuyNW Posted September 23, 2022 Author Posted September 23, 2022 (edited) Our Impero doesn't like the new version. It might because I customised the WIM before I imaged a machine but hmm not a good start. Trying a fresh untouched install now....... which Impero doesn't like either. Hmm.
