mrjkwilson Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 Hi, we are new to Bromcom (last year) and currently trying to see if there is a way to set internal exclusions/IEU/Internal Isolation via the system. Essentially can we place students in IEU and then register them somewhere? Any help appreciated.

Hi Mr J K Wilson Thank you for your post, yes there are 2 options available in Bromcom you could create either an Intervention Group as detailed in this guide. https://docs.bromcom.com/knowledge-base/how-to-create-intervention-groups/ or a withdrawal group https://docs.bromcom.com/knowledge-base/how-to-create-a-withdrawal-group-2/ Kind Regards Bromcom Support
mrjkwilson Posted September 21, 2022 Author Posted September 21, 2022 Thanks for this @Bromcom_Support_2 Which is best for meeting the following criteria: a) showing on student records so we can see when/how many times a student has been in IEU b) a timetable for IEU which means that a different teacher supports each lesson (25 teachers over 25 timetable periods allocated as part of timetable - so consistent week to week) many thanks

mrjkwilson Posted September 21, 2022 Author Posted September 21, 2022 In looking at this - having multiple staff cover it - the withdrawal method is best... but ruins staff timetables for the day. Is there a way to schedule a detention within lesson time?

Is there a way to schedule a detention within lesson time? Hi Mrjkwilson You can Schedule Detentions to take place throughout the day, but if the Students are timetabled to Teaching Classes, the Detention will not take priority or overwrite them. If the Student is not in a lesson the Teacher is also not in a lesson at the time, the Detention can take place during Lunch or P4 for example. Withdrawal Groups give you the ability to take Staff out of lessons for specific periods if you wish. Kind regards, Bromcom Support
PrettyWoman Posted December 21, 2022 Posted December 21, 2022 Evening. Just wondered if you can export the list of students in a withdrawal group? Thank you.
Bromcom_Support_2 Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Evening. Just wondered if you can export the list of students in a withdrawal group? Thank you. Hi PrettyWoman You can use the Class/Group List Report from within Reports>Curriculum, it will allow you to select a Withdrawal Group as the Group Type and list all of the Students within the Group you select. Kind regards, Bromcom Support. 2
Reverend_Dan Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 We use withdrawal groups for for our behaviour support room and longer project based groups. As it gives a register and removed the pupils from the class reg they should be in. Ive attached a report I had to produced for the SLT which shows how many periods they have been in each of these groups. Good for PP funding reports and for behaviour reports. PrettyWoman Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Thanks! That seems to what I need. I'll have a good look at it. Merry Christmas to all!
LHALL Posted October 2, 2025 Posted October 2, 2025 So do I create one withdrawal group called 'isolation' for example. then add students and periods as and when they are scheduled to go into isolation?
