Sims Assessment Manager Performance Issues

Hi everyone,

 

Just a heads up, Don't know if any of you are SIMS.NET users but all our admin staff say its slow and i just picked up on this over at icttechnician.com

 

The second problem is the long period of time it takes to access and use the Mark Sheets within Assessment Manager. It can take upto 1 minute to load certain MArk Sheets and/or modify them.

 

Using Performance Monitor (W2k Utility) on the server (whilst using Assessment Manager) indicates a combination of both high CPU utilisation and HDD read/write activity.

I hope you will forgive a direct response from Capita.

We have tracked down a procedure that could account for slow opening of mark sheets. The fix should be made avaiable today on SOLUS.

 

I hope our LEA pick up on this ASAP because its a pain in the arse to keep hearing 'Sims is slow' day in, day out.

It's patch 8165 that cures the problem. The problem comes as a result of doing the March update to sims.net. They were going to wait until April to release the fix... Apparently it slipped through their testing, hmmmm.

thanks for the heads up, i guess im lucky in that i didnt do the march update as i was away recently.
