Hi Guys,

I have a user (SLT funnily enough) that is missing chunks of their emails using outlook.office.com. As it currently stands the emails that they have got today have been showing up but before today there is nothing showing since 30th June.

They do show up on the users IPAD (Thankfully) and I have accessed his emails through office admin and all emails are showing going back to the 30th June.

This has been an ongoing problem for a couple of months but was told it had sorted itself out. I have deleted the profile locally and deleted the cache but because it is the web base version I am struggling for ideas.

All google and YouTube keeps showing me the Outlook app so that's not really helping.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you @clareq it was as simple as that. I had to change it 'To me' rather than 'All' the user had alot of pinned and flagged emails so wonder if that had something to do with it.

They were more impressed that there was a forum for Educational IT than actually getting the problem fixed!

This is going to sound really daft, but I had this issue (funnily enough with an SLT member) but they had over 10,000 emails in their inbox. So they were recieiving new emails, but they wouldn.t show due to their emails being maxed out completely. Even when we added rules and split down the inbox, the issue still stayed. So i would recommend asking the SLT member of staff to spend some time going through and removing a lot of emails, and cleaning it up. Hope this helps!

Don't let that secret out! We need people to think we're magicians!

I'd suggest you look at archiving, if you are on Exchange, and data retention policies and get some applied. Over 10,000 emails sounds a long multi year pile up and that could be a GDPR issue and a potential SAR nightmare!

I used to try and keep my 365 inbox empty via moving emails to folders but now

I just delete the junk and leave everything else in my inbox, there must be 1000's in there

going back years!

Never been an issue (so far), e.g. search seems to find stuff ok, filtering works.

Is this not best practice, how do you do it ?
