Exam Restricted/Internet banned Accounts that can authenticate to O365 SSO in Win10

We are trying to create a solution for exam students so that they can license Office 365 apps via SSO, but at the same time be internet banned.

 

We have SSO in place for other staff and students which works well, but due to the exam accounts being internet banned, this does not allow the office apps to license.

 

Currently we have got students using Wordpad, but a better solution is required please.

 

Any thoughts and ideas welcome.

You need to allow access to various URLs at Office 365 URLs and IP address ranges - Microsoft 365 Enterprise | Microsoft Docs

 

There are some surprising URLS in the list you may not want to access and it'll probably be OK for your uses. Be aware that the list is updated so what is good now may not be next year.

Not sure if its applicable in your environment but we use Office 365 Device licence in IT suites where they have exams so they are licenced at device level

We had the same problem and we used group policy to blacklist all sites (*) on Edge and Chrome. Ideally you want to use ExamWritePad though as suggested above.

For those computers that have to have Word instead of examwritepad we did shared device licensing and an exam account logged in, which gives 30 days token life without internet access
