Cannot See C Drive While Attempting to Image/Reinstall Windows

I am currently rolling out a number of Dell Optiplex 5090 desktops. It is the School's policy to reinstall windows or re-image the PCs when they arrive to remove bloat etc.

 

When attempting to re-image via Macrium, Acronis or do a fresh windows install using Windows Recover Media - the C drive is never listed as an available option for installing the OS to. I thought this may be down to the PCs having NVMe drives. After updating RAID drivers, this problem still persists.

 

The C drive works entirely normally when allowing the PC to boot into it's preinstalled Windows.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Can you see the actual drive itself? Can you see any other partitions?

I had this issue when trying to re-image Lenovo laptops for deployment.. no 'C' drive to install anything to... just the windows press a key to load drivers etc. This was with either a PXE or USB boot discs...

 

Found a web article about the Intel VMD driver in the bios... Disable it and the Intel AHCI options come to life. Once disabled, the build 'found' the 'C' drive and was happy...

I am having a similar issue installing Windows 11 on to 3 x HP 250 G8 i7 Laptops. I have successfully managed to upgrade 6 x HP 250 G8 i5 Laptop (LiteTouch - network connection), however, with the i7s I get an error “Possible Cause Missing Storage Driver” – “FAILURE (7711): Disk OSDDiskindex(0) cannot be found!”. I contacted HP, who suggested doing a 'Firmware' upgrade "Intel Solid State Drive (SSD) Firmware Update - HPS2/HP06/HPS5/HPS9 Rev.A", which made not difference. After that HP said it's not our problem, you will need to contact INTEL or Microsoft for drivers?I've had these 3 x HP 250 G8 i7s for 6 weeks and still can't past the error, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
