The Exam Board

Anyone else think that the exam board seriously need to enter this century. Still asking for exam audio recordings to be burnt to cd or copied to a usb drive and posted? Or am i missing something?

It really does depend on the exam board. IB and Pearson allow work to be uploaded to their website, hopefully others will follow soon!

Agreed. AQA let us upload all our MFL recording via their website.

Our exams officer has had about a dozen different online submission systems to work with this year (bit of an exaggeration). All of which are new, different and with their own idiosyncracies, but it's nice to finally see the work being put in by exam boards. Only a few subjects now where we're posting off USB drives.

 

I suspect the last few years since GDPR became such a hot topic has seen the exam boards getting totally fed up of trying to coordinate everybody to successfully encrypt and decrypt files on physical media.

Yes they're a total joke and fundamentally fail to understand 21st century technology.

 

Stupid things like 20mb upload limit for video files for example.

Just see last year when all their systems collapsed under the load of uploaded word docs and pdfs for the TAGs/CAGs for more evidence of this. But yes you're right, those still asking for things on disc are a joke. Whether its audio recordings or videos they really need to get with this century. Sadly they have a captive audience, and the backend systems are not considered when subject leads choose which course to do! And don't get me started on the costs....

I don't usually sing Pearson's praises, but in this case they've got at right. A link to a 365 library, a 10 minute pass code sent to the registered email address when connection attempted, an email back to confirm successful upload.
