After installing Dreamweaver for our staff and students, whenever we try to run the software it comes up with an error asking us to replace the menus.xml.

Once you have run it as an administrator, it then works normally.

I've tried giving full access to the program folder on a test machine to see if this allows it to do what it needs, but the error still occurs.

Can anyone offer any insights into this?

Cheers

From a quick google it looks like you can edit the menu.xml with NP++ and this fixes the issue - you could then copy a "fixed" copy out to all machines via group policy. It appears that this bug has been around for over 10 years.

Open menus.xml with Notepad++

Hit keys Ctrl + F

Click Replace tab

Insert && in search

Insert && in Replace by

Hit Replace all button

Save the file

EDIT:

Are you redirecting Appdata as at first run DW creates the menu.xml (and other config files) in the users Appdata
