One of my users has the one drive icon in her task bar crossed through on every machine she goes to:

Screenshot 2022-03-29 122616.jpg

She is logged onto 365 - her email and on-line OneDrive connect without needing further authentication, but clicking the OneDrive icon prompts her to sign in, but the sign in box doesn't appear. We use local profiles, and I've removed her profile from the machine, which hasn't helped.

Any ideas?

When you say you removed her profile from the machine , Did you delete the profile from the registry also ?

Check out

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\

Could still be in there :p

I removed her profile correctly, by going to advanced system settings, user profiles.

Doesn’t always work with the files on demand. DelProf2 running as the SYSTEM account should delete the profile correctly.

Still. Does it hurt to check ? Most probably a left over some where.

I have the same issue at my place. Deleting the profile works but I don't think its great long term. double-check that the profile is properly removed.

Thanks, it took three goes at deleting the profile - even though C:\Users and the registry showed no sign of her account, before I could get it to work. A colleague who's seen it an a sister school says it happens if a user cancels sign in to OneDrive - it then never allows sign in again.

Tried that, it didn't work. I deleted the profile a number of times, allowing her to log back on between each deletion. We were only able to log into OneDrive when I removed her profile using a local admin account, rather than a domain admin.

We came across a similar issue to this that was affecting a few users here. Turn out they had an old personal Microsoft account that was set up using the same email address as their school account.

Once their school email was removed from their personal Microsoft account, this fixed the sign-in issue with OneDrive.
