LeMarchand Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 Haven't done any investigation like other browsers (I use Firefox), but is anyone else getting this behaviour when using text formatting keyboard shortcuts? If I use CTRL + B/I/U it works, but these characters appear: ​​ ​​ ​​

You can CTRL + then start typing it the designated style and use the combo a second time to end the function. Don't know if the team have fixed it, but I just did those italics without the weird characters coming up.

Italic Bold Underline Hmmm... maybe because I always just use quick reply, but when I CTRL > B it gives me both ends and the cursor is set between the [b ]|[ /B] for me to type into.

I get that in some places, but not on Edugeek. Sounds like you have Source Mode rather than WYSIWYG mode set as default. I didn't know that was possible! Somewhat relevant: Those shortcuts also work all sorts of things: GMail, Word, Outlook etc. CTRL + Enter sends in GMail and can be set to do the same in Outlook.

As you correctly surmised I was in 'Source Mode' so I changed it to 'WYSIWYG mode' and then pressing CTRL and tapping i gave me the initial weird characters, but continued to type in italics... ​ Pressing the same combination at the end, gave another set of strange characters and then returned to typing normally...
