Hi All,

We would like to continue using NovaT6 even if we have no SIMs contract, I know they are technically seperate programs and Nova was third party but things have gotten somewhat muddled over the years and now getting this info seems to be difficult -

Does anyone know anything solid around the idea of continuing to use Nova satellite even if SIMs is no longer supported officially?

I'm sure it's possible as I know of someone who did use Nova without SIMS. However I think they too ended up getting rid of it for timetabler.com.

I do wonder if it is part of one of these SIMS packages build it in with other stuff you don't need as you don't have the core SIMS bits. I think I would probably look to ditch in your position, but that's easier said than done.

You'll be able to use the satellite version of NT6, worth checking with ESS/Capita how much they want for future support/updates though

I've got a meeting with a rep shortly and could do with knowing the same, will ask if I remember.

Sorry missed the Satellite in the title - can confirm that Nova can be licensed separately

We're looking at moving to iSams or Engage, unfortunately Engage doesn't support Nova so we'll probably need to switch to Timetabler

Hi All,

thanks for the replies - we've now moved to Bromcom (hooray)

But still can't install NOVA satellite as it seems to want SIMS

I'm going to take a look after the bank holiday (of course the staff member isn't here) but anyone else had this?

That looks like it does not have permission to write the files to the program files. is it running as an admin ?

You are running it as Administrator aren't you as it doesn't give the elevate privilege dialogue.

As long as you have the licence file, you don't need SIMs on the station.
