How does GCDS determine what alias email addresses are added to a Google Account?

In the GCDS configuration, you can specify the attributes that GCDS evaluates. GCDS evaluates the data stored in the attribute only if it matches a valid SMTP address.

 

When using Microsoft Active Directory proxyAddresses, GCDS strips off the smtp: prefix during the sync so the prefix doesn't show on your Google domain.

 

Have you added proxyAddress to GCDS>User Accounts>Alias Address Attributes?

Anyone ever had an issue with GCDS not paying attention to entires in proxyAddresses attribute? I've tried "SMTP:[email protected]", "stmp:[email protected]", "[email protected]", "a.bcd"... no joy!

 

Haven't come across that, but then we don't use the proxyaddress attribute. One thing to check might be whether the user account that GCDS is using to query AD has privileges to read that attribute. Bit of a long shot.
