Microsoft 365 Price Increase

Hi all,

 

I would just like to ask some clarification on Microsoft Licensing please.

 

Have a few primary schools on the Office 365 A1 for faculty which is free. They also have Volume Licensing in place.

 

My question really relates to the following email received from a 3rd party regarding Microsoft increasing it's pricing. Does the below email relate to increases in what the schools already have as explained above or does this just apply to those using CSP ? Thank you for any feedback.

 

 

"Good Afternoon,

 

It is my responsibility to make you aware, if Microsoft have not already, that from the 1st of March there will be a significant price increase of 365 licences purchased via Cloud Service Partners, but we can help you avoid this by locking in your current licence costs until February 2023.

 

What’s happening:

 

Microsoft are changing the to the New Commercial Experience platform which means

From March 2022 a price rise of between 9% and 25% will be applied to some popular M365 subscriptions

There will be a 20% increase in cost for all licences to retain the flexibility of changing licence volumes, on a monthly basis

This can be avoided by fixing licence volumes for either 1 or 3 years [you’ll be able to increase but not decrease licences within the fixed period]

From March all new licence purchased must be on NCE.

Further to my question. I have now found the answer. Educational pricing is not affected as per article:-

It states this at the bottom of the article There are no changes to pricing for education and consumer products at this time.

The price increases are for 6 business products only at the moment:

 

Microsoft 365 Business Basic

Microsoft 365 Business Premium

Office 365 E1

Office 365 E3

Office 365 E5

Microsoft 365 E3
