WT-NB Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 Evening Everyone, Has anyone ever experienced this issue before? At one of my schools we have a Ruckus ZD3050 we have purchased some additional Ruckus R500 APs, however I am struggling to get them connected onto the controller (or get the controller to even see them) I have tried factory resetting the APs, using the firmware taken from one of our existing APs, adding in both primary and secondary controller, setting a static IP rather than a DHCP. We are out of Ruckus support, does anyone know if the Ruckus support is linked to licensing of the APs? Much appreciated
Boredguy Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Might be a silly question, but is your ZoneDirector already running it's maximum licenced Access Points? If your controller is only licenced for 25 Access Points, and you want to add a 26th, that might be why it can not see it (I've not tried to add more than my licence allows)
smarties11 Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Could be licensing as Boredguy suggests - but just to check the obvious - have you got your ZD set to auto approve AP requests or manually approve? If the latter, they'll not appear on the ZD until you approve them. I can't remember the route now as we have migrated to a SmartZone virtual controller and the interface is different but probably somewhere on the system tab
WT-NB Posted February 11, 2022 Author Posted February 11, 2022 Yeah we have 75 licences so we have more than enough, i`ve logged it with Ruckus to see if they can assist Might be a silly question, but is your ZoneDirector already running it's maximum licenced Access Points? Davit2005 Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 (edited) Do you have seperate vlan for management of the APs, does the switch port configuration between a new AP and existing AP match? My experience with Ruckus is about 11 years ago. But I'd certainly check port switch configuration if you cannot even see the AP. Edited February 11, 2022 by Davit2005
Net-Ctrl Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 @WT-NB - did you get this resolved? Please let me know if not and I will speak to our engineers to see if they can assist you. Apologies for the delay on this I missed this thread otherwise would have offered some assistance sooner. 1
Nblakey96 Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 I did thank you, I installed the stand-alone firmware added in the ZD IP through the CLI and it worked a treat! @WT-NB - did you get this resolved?
