Jaan Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 Hi All, Anybody able to access the "contact support" sections of the autodesk educational site? Are they having issues? I'm having a real issue trying to contact them. All the methods of contacting them via the portal are failing...... The site is just timing out or giving errors. I've tried another computer on my unfiltered mobile hotspot and its the same! Anybody else have the same issue? I just need to renew so i can get the network license file i need to generate. But thats giving an error and the support link that offers is a 404! Even the email i have for them is rejecting my emails! Cheers
chazzy2501 Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 yeap, I can't make a new licence file for Inventor, when I click customer support the bot.autodesk.com link fails to load.... 1
Jaan Posted February 4, 2022 Author Posted February 4, 2022 Exactly the same issue here. I've been told the educational establishment is pending approval and could take 14 days
chazzy2501 Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 have autodesk changed their licensing for schools. is there now a 125 pupil limit and teachers have to add them manually?
Jaan Posted February 4, 2022 Author Posted February 4, 2022 have autodesk changed their licensing for schools. is there now a 125 pupil limit and teachers have to add them manually? I know they have change from 3 years to 1..... i hope there's not a limit as we'd blow through that 125 5xover
finlay Posted March 2, 2022 Posted March 2, 2022 Having a total nightmare with Autodesk & SheerID which has gone on for months regarding two issues. 1)Trying to generate a license for Inventor 2022 for a verified school, this is just not happening and Autodesk support appear to be clueless - end result is that the largest school in our LA is left without Inventor, I have being going around in circles with support and on the verge of giving up. 2)Trying to verify a new school in SheerID since January, in contact with support since January which keeps defaulting response to: "The process of reviewing schools takes approximately 7 days. Schools submitted are not guaranteed to be added, but all requests are researched and considered. We do not send notifications once a school has been reviewed, but you can check back at the verification form for any updates"

Not able to generate a licence as no product are appearing. We're using onshape now instead.
finlay Posted March 2, 2022 Posted March 2, 2022 I'm glad to hear that we are not the only customers suffering this issue and it would be good to hear from anyone else who has suffered the same experience. We are looking at Onshape as an alternative as well.
finlay Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 We eventually had our school verified, and then after contantly emailing Autodesk without response, I was suddenly able to access to 2022 version of Autocad and Inventor via protal for creating deployments!
slugshead Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 Exactly the same issue here. I've been told the educational establishment is pending approval and could take 14 days Did you get anywhere with this? I've been waiting 2 years so far
finlay Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 I did, emailed them on a near daily basis for three months.
chazzy2501 Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 I've been rejected as my name wasn't on the forms I submitted... (as I have to verify my self like a pupil) wtf... I've been using it for nearly a decade?! We've just given up on inventor now, we asked the pupils to move over to the Fusion 360. (as it is web based the install was a non-issue) no licence server either...
chazzy2501 Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 We walked and went onshape. dang, they want money for SSO..
finlay Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 Unfortunatly we could not go with Onshape at this time, not enought time for staff and pupils to adjust etc. Onshape is being pushed for future use.
KK20 Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 (edited) I hate autodesk with a passion. This has been an annual nightmare for us ever since the current DT teachers started to use autodesk stuff. The 125 pupil to teacher licensing wasnt good, each teacher needed letter headed paper "I work here" annually, then they could get the pupils added, we needed the technicians to also do this because of the limits. It is a real faff in september each year for us. Ironically enough, Autocad (probably their flagship product) was a piece of cake to get licensed (and we only use it on a few PCs for the 6th formers) - we set up a licensing server (similar to a KMS server) and that was it! It came with all the relevent checks and applications in the installer. Edited March 14, 2022 by KK20 1

Were you ever able to get the deployments working for Autocad 2022? A lot of people had issues with that last year.
finlay Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 I created a standalone package which was deployed via PDQ.
kingoranks Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 Pain in the arse but I finally got Autocad 2023. licencing is a lot hassle
finlay Posted August 11, 2022 Posted August 11, 2022 We have now upgraded Autocad and Inventor to the network 2023 versions. Wish that I could say it was straightforward, but it took weeks of reporting to support, escalations and going round in circles before being able to receice serial numbers and create deployments for both titles. Hopefully that should be it for another year..
