Wireless/battery camera for in loft

Thanks, will just leave it all there and not go in the loft any more. How long will the peanut butter and bait be ok up there till it needs changing?

 

Pretty much forever… several months at least. You should be checking it daily to see if it’s been touched though.

 

And once you have a dead rat, you need to find it before it stinks your property out

Thanks, I have the camera covering the bait so I can tell if anything has touched it. It's not an easy loft to get into as the hatch is at the top of the stairs and as I live alone I'm not keen on going up there when there's no-one else about incase the ladder slips.

 

I'm hoping it doesn't take too long as I can't sell the flat until this is sorted.

Pest controllers have told me they're suspicious of changes to their environment, but eventually curiosity will get the better of them.

 

If the pest controller is refusing to go back up there, was he talking about the rats or himself?

So the rat has been taking the bait away but apparently not eating it! I have now used 2 packets of bait and still the rat survives. Must be some kind of super rat

My "rat man" came back on Saturday to check on progress. The bait he'd put in had been cached. He says this is a sign of it being a single rat, as if it were a bunch of them (which it sounds like!) they eat as much as they can knowing the others will given 1/2 a chance. He also said that they will normally ingest enough moving it to kill them.

 

Haven't heard it for a while now!

That's good. Hopefully it is just the single rat for me and he is caching it and will have ingested enough soon.
