6Foot2 Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air "reboot" UK release date: Currently unknown.
hardtailstar Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 I don't think it'll be good. I'll still give it a go once it's in the UK though.
paulkerton Posted January 11, 2022 Posted January 11, 2022 Looks.... Not. Good. You'll know how good it's considered to be depending on whether it appears on one of the Sky channels or gets dumped on "Peacock on Sky" - The home of NBC productions that Sky think are beneath them
paulkerton Posted January 11, 2022 Posted January 11, 2022 So it's a drama rather than a comedy? Yes. Dramatic reboot.
synaesthesia Posted January 11, 2022 Posted January 11, 2022 Seems "cheap". The original worked because it was able to tackle serious issues with comedy. That's difficult to pull off, so a drama is easier. Even with Will Smith directing, I can't see it being particularly successful.
Norphy Posted January 11, 2022 Posted January 11, 2022 I don’t know. This could go either way. I think it has the potential to be an interesting and powerful drama; however going by that trailer it could also be god-awful. I guess we’ll see when it gets released.
jthompson Posted January 11, 2022 Posted January 11, 2022 My first inclination is to yawn, but I have to be fair and say that I've not managed to get all of the way through the trailer yet. It looks a bit like a non-playable, boring version of Grand Theft Auto.
