I have a senior member of staff that wants to standardise across all classrooms. It needs to be free floating and count down or up etc. All options considered, payed or free. Thanks in advance.

There is absolutely no reason to be purchasing timers, and I have zero idea why you need to standardise them as long as you can count time. Sounds like someone has too much time on their hands (maybe that's what they need to be timing?) 1

We have a teacher who loves using a big timer up on the board especially for tests etc. They used the one built into SMART on their IWB, then when the Flash thing hit I was asked for alternatives (I didn't put a lot of effort into it though), Google seemed the easiest, so they went with that. Now we've moved onto a newer version of SMART but I think they still use Google. I'm guessing 'non-internet connected' devices (if you have any) would benefit from a standalone timer though?
Tom_P Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 I use XNote Stopwatch at my schools. Its available on the MS store or as a portable exe. I place the exe in a shared folder and add a shortcut on staff desktops.

You can pay for a licence for the full features. But to be honest with you, ive been using this for years and had no requests from teachers for the full version. I couldnt even tell you what you get with the full version.
DaveTheTech Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 I had a similar request years ago for exams. They wanted a clock and somewhere to type in the start, finish and title of the exam. Threw together a quick and dirty HTML page with clock and an editable table. Worked great.
