We have 40 Lenovo 100e Chromebooks - can these be re imaged with Windows? Only asking as we have also received the same model but the Windows version.

Technically maybe - practically no. To do this you would have to flash a third party BIOS and risk bricking the device and forget about any warranty. I think they also only have 16 or 32Gb or local storage - so not practical for Windows.

They are decent Chromebooks - use them as such - and come with the management licence.

They won't have a Windows license to upgrade to Edu - you'd need to buy those first. Any Edu licensing you have only applies to upgrades from existing Windows (and Mac OS) licenses.

Probably not worth it considering the hardware designed to run Chrome Books are low anyway.

The hardware in the 100e Chromebook is the same as the hardware in the 100e Windows machine.

However, I definitely wouldn't do it. ChromeOS will run smoothly on the hardware, Windows certainly won't.

I must admit, I'd be inclined to whack ChromeOS on the Windows devices these days, rather than the other way round.
