SIMS and FMS

Hi

 

If i dont renew the contract for SIMS and FMS in April, will both just stop working? If FMS just stops working i will need to find a short term fix from April to August.

The renewal is a license and for support IIRC, you can't stop paying it and continue to use the licensed modules though I think it'll keep working. It's a bit like an MS license on physical hardware.

The critical part is each termly update provides support for the census. If you miss a termly update, you also miss the census module update including the filesets that have a habit of breaking! That means you cannot complete the census.

 

And no, you cannot obtain patches or filesets whilst out of support contracts by asking around on the forum. Just putting that in there before someone asks.

If you are hosting it locally, it will keep working but no updates as above. If you are paying for hosted SIMS, that will stop working and I assume they will give your data back.
