Non IT Staff Access to Server Rooms

One of the main distribution boards is in our server/comms room so access is needed. I agree with what most are saying, you have to allow facilities access to the room.

IT and site team have access , Any other access IE a contractor is logged in a sign in book

Its not an issue until someone nicks the mouse from the server because theirs wasn't working.

Easily solved I nicked it back and gave them one of the old ball ones I had lying around for a the day;)

 

We had CCTV company nick a pwr cable from a switch before now, lets jus say we were not amused. The building was not quite finished but the switch was on and serving a few devices.

Maybe they ran out of power cables?

 

I’d have none of that in my building!
