themanfromict Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 I've just had a batch of iPads arrive from the DfE. Figured now now might be a good time to finally look at switching to an MDM, rather that linking iPads to one account. All the iPads will be shared, but entering iTunes details is a pain. I'm looking at either JAMF or Mosyle. Are they both US based? Or is there someone in the UK that resells them? I'm already dreading having to explain to the finance off that the subscription is in $ not £.
StevieM Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 AFAIK, linking all the iPads to one account contravenes Apple's T&Cs so you really do need an MDM of some flavour, particularly if you're sending them home with pupils. Mosyle costs something like $5.50 (currently around £4.10) per device per year. We've been using it for around 18 months and it works really well - much better than the Profile Manager nightmare I was using before. Depending on your requirements, Mosyle also offers a free subscription.
RLR Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 There are several resellers for Jamf. There are two main versions: Jamf Pro and Jamf School. I believe Jamf School use to be Zuludesk and Jamf purchased them. Resellers you can go to for quotes I know of: Jigsaw24 and Academia.
DalekSec Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 +1 For Mosyle, does what it says on the tin!
Aprice Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 +1 for Mosyle, used the free one working for a previous MSP. Probably managed 3000+ devices across a couple of accounts and didn't pay a penny. They don't ask for card details either so shouldn't be a finance issue:) Really great product, the paid version is great if you can justify the cost but we just didn't really need it. Also it makes sense to get the devices enrolled through Apple school manager, so the profiles can't just be removed by the kids Alex
Brimstone Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 One account in iTunes....... you will have to buy any paid for content again as this is now owned by the Personal Apple ID you used
