I'm just going to paws the thread here and it's probably an entrance/exit tunnel as there is two tracks in each tunnel. But probably no one gives a whiskers about it....

Also worth pointing out that the police will take a dim view of trespassers. If you play around on the railway lines, you're going to get collared.
