Bogsdollox Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Well the monitor just won't display anything, seen this now on a few Dell's, the orange light stays on when you turn on the PC and the monitor thinks it's in standby mode. If I plug in a different monitor it works fine, if I plug something else into the original monitor, it displays fine. The two just don't seem to like each other. If it try pressing the monitor menu button, the message says to press the power button or any key on the keyboard, but this of course doesn't work, else I wouldn't be posting about it Anyone got any ideas as to why they won't talk?
Burt Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 I had this on a 19" monitor...turned out to be a biffed VGA cable...
Bogsdollox Posted June 19, 2008 Author Posted June 19, 2008 Yeah that was my original thought, but I've tried two others that are working fine but they give the same results.
Burt Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Hummm - is it new out the box? Call Dell and say it's a DOA...
Bogsdollox Posted June 19, 2008 Author Posted June 19, 2008 Hummm - is it new out the box? Call Dell and say it's a DOA... It's been in school for about 3 months working quite happily, then all of a sudden it just stopped.
Burt Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 All Dell monitors have 1 year's warranty...give em a call and they will swap it out. Just be persistent with them and say you have tried everything!
SYNACK Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 It's been in school for about 3 months working quite happily, then all of a sudden it just stopped. Still under warranty then, I would just get them to replace it as it will probably be quicker than figuring out if the fault is fixable. 1
Bogsdollox Posted June 19, 2008 Author Posted June 19, 2008 Yep think that's all I can do really, thanks for the help all
