I currently use a Dell docking station which means I can plug in a USB C cable to my laptop and link everything to my Dell laptop. This is been replaced for a Lenovo and the Dell dock doesn't work with just the 1 cable so need to source a new dock so after any recommendations.

Current one is only 1 HDMI, ideally would like 2 HDMI ports to make use of dual screen, multi USB and able to charge from the one cable.

Any recommendations please.

Which Dell dock do you have? I know that some of their older ones had proprietary mojo going on with their USB-C plugs but I think their newer ones should be ok.

Might be worth looking into monitors with integrated docks as well, one less thing to keep powered on. Lenovo and Iiyama do good ones, I’m sure other manufactures do too.

/edit The Dell D6000 is a DisplayLink based dock, which is essentially a graphics card attached to the USB port. They should work with anything, including computers without USB-C ports but they’re slower as USB graphics cards use a lot more CPU time. If your laptop has a USB-C port which can act as a DisplayPort, I’d avoid them.

The Dell one is a WD15 off the top of my head, it doesn't charge, like you say Dell had something going on with the early ones.

I've not long replaced my monitors on my home setup where I'm going to be using it and there was no need for it then and I am not replacing monitors again just for this. We use Lenovo monitors in the office with the hub's built in but I'm not going from 27" to 24" bad enough on the day I work in the office.
