Lainey Posted September 24, 2021 Posted September 24, 2021 No email remittances have been sent from the SIMS FMS module since January 2021 at one of our schools. Before that date they were sending fine. The school uses GMail and the IT person has enabled access to 'less secure apps' in Goofle. The Mail Server in FMS is set to smtp.gmail.com, Port 587. The report run in FMS Reports | General Ledger | Audit Trail entering P in the Audit Type and F under Audit Sub type says It was not possible to e-mail the BACS remittance advice for supplier ??????? on BACS run 100. Received error message was: To send email via GMail using login/password authentication, your GMail account must be configured to. allow for "less secure apps". See https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6010255. Otherwise you need to use OAuth2 authentication. Examples for GMail SMTP OAuth2 authentication are available. on example-code.com under the SMTP category.. SMTP authentication failed after sending password.. Check your username/password or your SMTP server's auth settings. Failed. Any ideas on how this can be resolved as I feel it's more of an IT issue rather than an FMS one! Thanks.
Koldov Posted September 24, 2021 Posted September 24, 2021 (edited) There's quite a few threads on here about FMS and emails (just search for FMS email), one of those is mine but it wasn't a GMail thing so I can't help you directly... Not being rude by the way... I'm not saying RTFM or JFGI... This one might have some answers while you wait for others to chime in. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/mis-systems/212211-fms-g-suite-will-new-announcement-google-mean-fms-cant-send-emails.html Edited September 24, 2021 by Koldov 1
localzuk Posted September 25, 2021 Posted September 25, 2021 You can also make use of the SMTP relay server from Google instead - but you have to tell l google the external IP of your connection to do this. 1
