MDM's for Android and iPad/iOS

Hi All,

 

After some thoughts on people's MDM solutions for schools and their feedback - MDM's for Android and iPad/iOS.

 

Reading through the forums there's a mixture of different ones e.g. Mosyle, Lightspeed (used very briefly previously and didn't seem to work properly) but not one that seems to be 'one size fits all' sort of thing.

 

We need something ideally to lock down and manage/deploy apps for:

 

Initially

 

Android Tablets (Stop in school)

iPads (Stop in school but some staff ones that would leave site and go home with staff)

 

 

but also potentially at some point:

 

Android Phones

iPhones

 

 

This is to manage stuff that's already there and InTune seems a bit advanced at the moment and a big learning curve.

 

Also to manage, purchase and deploy apps.

 

What is everyone's thought's and feedback on these systems?

We use Desktop Central, manages our mobile devices but also out desktop and server estate too. One place for everything, even image from it too.

Those on LGfL get a good number of meraki licences for ‘free’. This covers us for non-windows devices.

+1 for the LGfL-licensed Meraki here. We started with the 100-devices free license and upgraded.

 

It does almost all the things we ask it to, primarily for iPad management and more recently iPhone. I have it managing security, app deployment and device restrictions quite happily.

 

Haven't tried it with Android, the management options are fewer there, but that's across the board I think.
