HR / the head want an individual staff absence report that can be run and shared with each member of staff (to show their absences). Is there any built in or do I have to Design Report my own one? So each report would need to output to a separate word page I guess. Edited by coolhands

I did find one, someone else had made & I think I imported it. I’ll have a look tomorrow and see if I can export it and add it here so you can download and import it. Not sure where I found it.

Here's the one I found, I'm just can't remember where I found it. I will also import the schoolicts ones from above and see what they're like.

Because this website won't allow the proper file type to be uploaded I've changed the file extension to "zip". After you download, do not unzip it - you need to right-click and edit file name, and change the extension to "RptDef". So it will be called "Absence Between Dates Staff.RptDef"

Then you can import to your sims

Absence Between Dates Staff.zip

Something I do for a lot of reports in SIMs is pull the basic data out from a report (or multiple reports) using the command line reporter, process it in a fashion sims just doesn't allow, and then present the data in the various ways wanted.

This is generally all done within excel - staff just have to click a button. May be overkill in this case, but if ever the underlying code may help people please shout as happy to share (we do this for various things from staff absence overview, to the detentions process, and more). Knowledge of VBA would help, but can explain what it's doing. Early on in our sims life we did try using VBA with the custom excel templates all within SIMs - but it's far more limited and found it caused more problems than it sorted.

Could you ask your HR to mock up how they'd like the report to look (using Joe Bloggs/other mock data) and let me have a copy (either post here or let me know and I can send an e-mail address by PM) - am happy to sort it out and then explain how it works Edited by malbox
