Windows 10 - Edge profile

We have been using Windows 10 and chromium edge for a while. Over a year ago we stopped saving data from edge to profiles, instead we "Set the roaming profile directory" and reg key to tell edge to sign in the current user.

 

This worked seamlessly and we found we ended up with a profile.db file that was only 50kb or less. When the user logged back on all the favorites etc showed as normal. However we have now made a change to enable single sign on with Azure and this seems to have broke what we were doing. It now tries to sync with Azure which it not what we want it to do.
